If you have lived in a country other than the United States of America most of your life and lived in the US for at least a month you are eligible!
All I need is for you to answer 20 to 50 of my questions about your experiences for an interview I have to do as homework for a class in the next 11 hours via email or Deviantart Notes.
To apply, please answer these three questions in the thread:
What is your real name?
What countries have you lived in and how long?
Can you tell me about the schooling in your country? (For example, Americans attend public school for 13 years by law. We start at 8 am and leave at 3 pm. We have to study Math, History, Science, and English. We can chose to study at least one of several other subjects such as art, band, basketball, agriculture, home economics, and many others. )
I will check the thread in an hour to chose an individual to interview.
Here is some of the questions I might ask you:
1. How did you choose to come to the U.S.?
2. How long have you been in the U.S.?
3. What do you like the most/the least about the U.S?
4. What do you miss the most about your home country?
5. What has been the most academically challenging portion of your immersion experience in the U.S.?
6. What are the biggest differences you see between the university experience here and in yourhome country?
7. Tell me about schooling in the elementary and high school level in your country
8. What other facets of this experience (being in the US) have been challenging?
9. Can you describe a situation in which you felt it necessary to be an ambassador for your country? For example, has there been a situation in which you needed to clarify erroneous stereotypes or assumptions about your home culture? How did you handle that situation?
10. What is the general perception of the U. S. in your home country? Are those perceptions correct? In your opinion, what are U.S.’s greatest strengths and weaknesses?
11. Has your experience here helped you gain an appreciation for how the world is interconnected on all levels (environmental, socio-cultural, and geopolitical)? If so, can you cite specific examples?
